Learn about the Mermaid Tale Trail
For over seven decades, Hernando County has been home to the Weeki Wachee Springs. The beauty of the river, natural spring, and mystical mermaids has captivated audiences all over the world. In 2022, the Mermaid Tale Trail was created to honor the 75th anniversary of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, home to the world-famous mermaids. Along the trail, visitors can discover 27 mermaid statues, each painted by a different local artist. The statues are installed at public parks and places of interest throughout Hernando County - from Brooksville, to Hernando Beach, and Spring Hill.
This is a must-see destination for locals and tourists alike!
