Celebrating 75 years of Mermaids & Magic

In collaboration with Florida’s Adventure Coast Visitors Bureau, Brooksville Main Street, and local artists, we have partnered to create The Mermaid Tale Trail to honor the 75th anniversary of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, home to the world-famous mermaids. Celebrating 75 years of ‘Mermaids and Magic’, The Mermaid Tale Trail comprises 27 mermaid statues hidden throughout Hernando County. Mermaid statues grace streets in Brooksville, Hernando Beach, and Spring Hill from Shoal Line Boulevard to Spring Hill Drive.

Each larger-than-life sculpture beautifully displays the talents of local artists. The mermaids can be spotted at various parks and points of interest across the County. Finding them all makes for an exciting day trip or an excuse to go off the beaten path! Whether you go out and find all 27 mermaids in a day or discover them at a slower pace, you’re guaranteed to enjoy some beautiful sights and discover some new hidden gems along the way.
