Artist Spotlight: Ken Ruck
Meet Ken Ruck!
Ken is originally from New Jersey and has lived in Hernando County since 1984. In the past, he has dabbled in many forms of art including oil and acrylic painting, pen & ink, and sculpting from a very young age throughout his early life. Throughout busy life situations, his creativity was put on the back burner but along came retirement and Covid. With encouragement from his wife, Rosann, he became interested and began to hone his skill in watercolor painting. This remains his medium of choice for now, but he hopes to begin sculpting again. As for subject matter - he has always been inspired by landscapes and architecture and was greatly inspired by a trip to Italy. Because of this, you will find many pieces in his collection reflecting his travels there. However, he gets inspiration from much of what he sees in everyday life so you will see a variety of subject matter in all his work. The Ruck talent has passed down to his son Brandon and now also to his granddaughters Liliana and Violet who are both budding artists.
