Description : The Congressional Art Competition, launched in 1982, is coordinated by Members of Congress and is an annual high school art competition and exhibition representing congressional districts across the nation.

The Best of Show artwork travels to Washington, D.C. to be displayed for eleven months in the U.S. Capitol Building’s Cannon Tunnel with winners from other congressional districts.

The Hernando County Fine Arts Council is proud to work alongside the congressional office to promote this opportunity to high school students across the county, and hope to see the Best of Show artwork be awarded to a Hernando County student!

Entries are limited to one per student, each art teacher may enter up to five works.
The Student Information & Release Form must be completed and attached to the back of each entry.
Artworks must be transported in a secure portfolio and the portfolio labeled with the school’s name and the words “Congressional Art Competition”.
An Inventory Sheet and copy of each Release Form must be completed and forwarded in the portfolio with the student entries.
